Year End Event

Dear IHRC Friend,

 This will be our last event of the year! To celebrate the festive season and a great year of events and cooperation we leave behind, we would like to invite you to our Year End Event with Volker Jacobs, Managing Director of CEB for Germany, Austria and Switzerland and Mark Powell, Chartered Occupational Psychologist and HR Professional (MCIPD) at CEB. Do you have the tools in place to ensure a successful HR transformation?
In an attempt to improve both efficiency and cost, more than 80% of HR functions have just completed, are undergoing, or are planning an HR transformation initiative – yet the majority fail to meet their financial targets and result in frustration inside and outside HR. CEB will showcase best practices of HR transformation through a tried and tested recipe of owning the transformation objectives, using a compelling vision to engage the entire business and enabling HR’s capabilities to their full extent. Furthermore, common pitfalls (and how to avoid them) will be explored.
As companies try to prepare for the `Silver Tsunami` one of the major objectives for HR in the coming years is to find the high potential talent in the organization and develop them. This insight leads to the second part of the presentation:

 Do you know your High-Potentials and why should you?
Only 1 in 7 high performers are actually high-potential yet 46% of organisations do not have a systematic process for identifying HiPo employees. CEB will talk about the reasons why many HiPo programmers fail to deliver and why it should matter to CHROs to establish a successful one. In addition, best practices of accurately identifying high-potential employees are explored, including the three key attributes that distinguish high-potential employees.

Volker Jacobs is Managing Director of CEB for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, member of CEB’s global leadership group, and the global head of CEB’s HRIS Excellence initiative. In his role Volker Jacobs oversees the go-to-market operations for CEB’s Best Practices & Decision Support and Talent Management offerings in the D-A-CH region. In this capacity, Volker and his team partner with C-suite executives to help them to drive disproportionate business gains by more effectively optimizing talent investments, identifying and reducing risk, and enabling and accelerating growth.
Prior to CEB, Volker was Managing Partner of Baumgartner consulting and before this he was a consultant with Anderson Consulting.

Mark Powell is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and HR Professional (MCIPD) who specialises in the areas of Talent Management, Talent Assessment and Talent Development. Before joining CEB in 2013, he worked as the Global Head of Assessment at UBS, the Chief Psychologist at the UK Cabinet Office and most recently at Nationwide Building Society as the Talent and Succession Manager.
During his career, Mark has delivered on a wide range of solutions including global competency framework design, High-Potential and executive assessment, leadership development departmental capability reviews, employee engagement surveys and graduate recruitment and development. He works in the Solutions Consultancy team in the UK, where his focus if to work in partnership with clients to help transform the way they assess, hire and manage their talent.
