Transformative HR

John Boudreau
Professor of Management and Organization

Sponsored by: UBS, Towers Watson and KennedyFitch

IHRC, with the support of UBS, Towers Watson and KennedyFitch, were able to schedule a special event with the unique opportunity to experience the world renowned Human Resources thought leader John Boudreau talking about “Transformative HR”. Despite the short notice, a mix of 80 UBS HR colleagues, members of ZGP and IHRC gathered to hear Mr. Boudreau introduce the audience to the concept of Transformative HR, which he developed with Towers Watson’s global talent management leader Ravin Jesuthasan.

There is a transformation facing HR – one that will deliver a great strategic impact. Mr. Boudreau illustrated how some of the world’s most admired organizations are outpacing their competitors by applying an evidence-based approach to their human resource decisions. He explained the thinking behind evidence based change; described the five key principles of evidence-based change that leading-edge HR organizations are using to help achieve sustainable advantage; and cited examples of these principles in action. Mr. Boudreau also talked about the need for people to find the organization issues that are most important and to tell stories about them as a way of creating logic or a framework for utilizing quantitative HR data.

An apèro afterwards gave the audience the opportunity to network with Mr. Boudreau and his colleague from Towers Watson, Heike Ballhausen.
